Wilbur the Zucchini-Eating Dragon

The Community School is excited to announce that our teacher, Justine St. John, has just publishedher first children’s book.  Wilbur the Zucchini-Eating Dragon is a story about a dragon that is afraid to eat anything but zucchini...until one day; his favorite farm stand runs out! What will Wilbur do?

On Friday, January 27th at 10:30 am, all are invited to meet the author at our school.  Books will be available for purchase at $10.50 each and Miss Justine will be happy to sign and personalize your copy.

Come join us and sample a taste of “Wilbur’s Famous Zucchini Bread!”

2012 Annual Campaign Letter

December, 2011

Dear Friend of the Community School,

Last year I wrote this letter asking for your support in what was the most trying year in the Community School’s history.  But, with your support, the support of our staff and Board, and the families we serve, the Community School survived.   This year we have, I believe, turned a corner.  With your support, we will keep be able to sustain our momentum and build on it.

Last year, we had to restructure the school’s program, and became a four-day, school year program with one classroom.   This year, we reinstituted our summer program.   This year, we have begun offering the “Lunch Bunch,” extended care for families that desire or need it and a first step toward re-establishing our full-day program.   And, this year, once again, the Community School boasts two classrooms.

2012 Registration at The Community School

Many families enroll their children here at the Community School because other School families, both past and present, have referred them to us. The success of our school truly stems from the dedicated support of alumni families. If you know of any family, whose children could benefit from the services offered here at the Community School, your referrals would be sincerely appreciated.

The Community School is currently accepting registrations for the school year beginning September 2012. Currently enrolled families have first priority for the schedule they would like for their currently enrolled child or sibling. This registration period begins now and runs through Thursday, December 8, 2011.

From Monday, December 12, 2011 through Thursday, December 23, 2011 registrations will be accepted from any alumni families of The Community School. Beginning Monday, January 2, 2012, our community wide registration is open and all registration forms are due by Thursday, January 12, 2012.
